Enomalies was contracted by a local law firm to create a visual aid for a lawsuit. They needed to illustrate the manner in which a tree stand collapsed. Given a few photos and paper drawings of the components, Enomalies recreated each piece of the stand, scaled and suitable for rapid prototyping. The parts were printed and assembled in house. The first model, a static representation of the stand, was met with high praise, however the firm decided they would additionally like to show a mechanically accurate dynamic model of the tree stand as it collapsed. Enomalies revisited the model, creating hinged joints at the exact points of failure in the stand, and delivered a scale model illustrating exactly how the tree stand collapsed. The firm reported back to Enomalies that the models were “instrumental” in achieving a favorable ruling.
